What if the pipes leak?
Pioneer uses a specialized Pex pipe designed for the application. Our approach is to use one circuit that is terminated back to the manifold with no joints below the floor, which ensures good integrity combined with a 24 hour pressure test prior and during screeding ensures no leaks.
The pipes have a life expectancy of over 50 years and are chemical attack resistant. With a 6 bar pressure rating and system operating pressure less than 2 Bar. You should never experience a leak below the floor.
Third party damage can however be pin pointed and repaired with specialized equipment.
Yes, the better the insulation the better the efficiency of the building resulting in lower load demands to achieve the same comfort levels at reduced running cost.
Insulation can be placed below the slab or either as a floating floor structure below the screed.

Generally we use a 16mm pipe which is imbedded in a 45mm screed. Depending on the application pipe sizes can vary to 20mm with different spacing between the pipe circuits. For certain applications a TAB or Thermal activated Building Structure is used when the pipe circuits are laid in the slab once again we will assist with a custom design.

New age high energy efficient heat pump is the most common application and also the best priced application versus running cost. Pellet Boilers, Gas Burners and solar panels in combination with a backup energy source are also possibilities. Pioneer will assist in designing a custom system to cater your individual need.

Yes it can, although this might not be the best capital layout versus running cost application due to the large storage required to power the system throughout the evening when the solar collectors are none functional.
